I am excited to share this blog with you because henna has been a part of my personal journey since I was 14 years of age. My mother started applying henna hair mask on my long brunette tresses mainly to condition them and give them volume. As I grew older and continued the tradition, little did I realize that this will become my biggest boon.
As my greys developed, the henna continued to nourish and color, giving me gorgeous deep red highlights.

I would be asked often how I took care of my voluminous crowning glory or how I coloured my hair and everytime I would say, ”henna”, people would look at me quizzically.

I would go for a haircut and my hair stylist would admire my hair but the moment I would say, its all “henna” nourishment, they would give me a long lecture about how it will dry my hair and damage it. I think the problem was that people did not know how to use it effectively for the desired results. That’s the main reason why I wanted to write this blog so it answers all the questions in your mind. What I am sharing here is my personal experience and not marketing talk. I have personally converted many people to the HENNA PATH and they have thanked me profusely for it. The key is to use the right recipe with all the right ingredients and give proper attention to application and care after wash. Yes, it’s time consuming but when you see those gorgeous strands frame your face, you will know it’s worth it. In any case, I strongly believe that money and time is best spent on wellness.

The henna recipe I use has been in my family for decades and has been used by my great ancestors—a recipe passed down from generations of ayurvedic experts and this recipe has now been powered with modern scientific breakthroughs by MYSTEEQ.

This is one of those rare products that delivers the WOW factor after just the first use.

Origins of henna
Henna is a powder derived from crushing the henna leaves. The earliest use of this plant dates back to Egypt, some 9,000 years ago. Cleopatra, the last reigning queen of the ancient Egyptian civilisation is said to have used henna to adorn her body and beautify herself. Egyptians also used to paint nails of the mummies using henna before burying them.

Owing to its extensive history, henna as an art form has also got some superstitions attached to it. In India, it is believed that deeper the colour of henna on a bride’s hand, the better would be her relationship with the mother-in-law. In some places, it is also said to signify the strength of love between the bride and groom. Many traditional henna designs are secret symbols of prosperity, love, loyalty, fertility and good luck.

In the West, it is more popular as henna tattoos and women are sometimes seen with their pregnant bellies painted or heads adorned with henna designs while going through chemo therapy.

It has been used as a Cooling agent in hot summer months.

Initially the use of henna was limited to soaking hands and feet in its paste to retain body temperatures in times of intense heat. Gradually, people started applying paste to the hands, feet and arms with fingers and the designs were made with the aid of tiny twigs or toothpicks. This progressed into intricate henna art.

  • It is used to treat various types of skin problems like ringworm, athletes foot etc.
  • A considerable number of women use it as a natural nail polish.
  • The bark of the henna plant is known to be effective in the treatment of jaundice and some diseases.
  • Apart from its dyeing properties, the constant use of henna softens and strengthens hair and adds shine to it. It also acts as a natural remedy for hair loss. With its amazing ability to retain the pH balance of the scalp, henna naturally and effectively cures dryness, dandruff as well as premature graying of hair.
